11 days for the 11th

Bueno, no he tenido mucho tiempo de postear cosas nuevas porque estoy a solo 11 días de mi boda y hemos estado super ocupados, el tiempo corre y Vero y yo estamos ansiosos de que esta semana y media se nos vaya volando. 11 días muy emocionantes, intensos, 11 días que no olvidaremos nunca...

Well I haven't posted much in the last few days since we are only 11 days away from our wedding and we've been quite busy, time really flies, Vero and I can't wait for this week and a half to be over, we are so ready for our big day! 11 very exciting days are left, intense, 11 days that we won't forget in the rest of our life...

The Colors of San Miguel de Allende

Bueno pues la semana pasada como mencioné en el post anterior, tuve el privilegio de acompañar a Fer Juaristi a cubrir la boda de Analía y Sergio en el bello San Miguel de Allende, aunque no tuvimos mucho tiempo para turistear, los rincones bellos y colores de San Miguel están por todos lados, este sitio es otro de los lugares que hacen que me enamore de mi bello México.


As I mentioned before on the last post last week I had the privilege to join Fer Juaristi to cover Analía and Sergio's wedding at the beautiful San Miguel de Allende. Even though we didn't have much time as tourists, San Miguel's beautiful spots and colors are just everywhere, this is one of those places that make me fall more in love with my beautiful Mexico.

4 weeks away from our Big Day!

Anoche Fer Juaristi y yo regresamos de la super boda de Analia y Checo en San Miguel de Allende, pero antes de emprender esa aventura que dentro de poco les compartiré el buen Fer nos tenía lista a Vero y a mí la sorpresa de nuestras fotos de compromiso saliditas de horno! Ahora, siendo nosotros los modelos y clientes, estamos muy emocionados y agradecidos conque Fer haya logrado estas imágenes increíbles de nuestros recuerdos más bellos. Gracias por el increible trabajo Fer! Estamos ya más que emocionados y listos para nuestra boda en 4 semanas!

Last night Fer Juaristi and I came back from Analia and Checo's super wedding in San Miguel de Allende, but before sharing with you the images from that adventure, Fer had the great news for me and Vero that our photos from our e-session were ready to go! Now we were on the other side as models and clients and we are very excited and happy that Fer helped us capture such beautiful moments before our wedding. Thanks a lot for the amazing job Fer! We are looking forward to have you in 4 weeks in our wedding!

Ale's Bday

El martes pasado fuí invitado al Capellini para hacer lo que más me gusta, que es tirar clicks de gente contenta, relajada, divirtiendose y pasandola bien y es que precisamente en el cumple de Ale no faltó el buen amibiente. Aqui les comparto algunas fotos del martes pasado y que sean muchos muchos más los años por venir para Ale!

Last Tuesday I was invited to the Capellini restaurant to do what I like the most which is shooting a few clicks of happy, relaxed, fun people and in Ale's birthday dinner I found precisely that. I share with you a few of my favorite shots from this last Tuesday and of course I wish Ale many many more years like this to celebrate!

Aprendiendo

Estos últimos días han sido de mucho aprendizaje. Mi amigo Fer me recordó un libro que nos recomendaron llamado The Fast Track Photographer de Dane Sanders.

Yo opino que todos en algún momento necesitamos relajarnos un momento y aceptar la persona que de verdad somos y este libro puede ayudar mucho para conseguir ese respiro. Yo le recomiendo este texto a todo mundo, seas o no fotógrafo, seas o no dueño de un negocio. Ojalá se den la oportunidad de conseguir una copia y se den una vuelta por las páginas de este libro, que en general, lo enseña y motiva a uno a sentirse cómodo con quien uno es de verdad, a ser auténtico y a 'tomar al toro por los cuernos' aceptando tus defecto y maximizando tus virtudes.

I feel like I've learned a lot in these past few days. My friend Fer reminded me that we were encouraged to read the book The Fast Track Photographer from Dane Sanders and so I did.

I believe there is a time when all of us need a break to feel comfortable with who we really are and I believe this book is a great tool to take that break. I recommend this book to everyone, it doesn't really matter if you are a photographer or not, or if you are a business owner or not, In my opinion, this book is for everyone. I hope that you have the chance to go through its pages and find some inspiration there, I'm sure it will help you to keep motivated and to feel great with yourself. This book will really encourage you to take the bull by the horns accepting your defects and maximizing your talents.

Vero & Me are getting married!!

Además de visitar Austin para la conferencia de David Jay, mi prometida Vero y yo aprovechamos el viaje y el talento de Fer Juaristi para que nos tomaran las fotos de nuestra sesión de compromiso en la maravillosa Misión San Jose en San Antonio, TX. La experiencia de estar detras de las camaras y ahora ser los modelos fue completamente distinta pero extremadamente divertida. Muchas gracias a Fer y a Rafa y Rocio por haber tomado las fotos y aguantar por horas el intenso calor de San Antonio!

After our conference in Austin with David Jay, my fiance Vero and I took the advantage of traveling with the talent of Fer Juaristi to have our Engagement Session photos taken in the incredible Mission San Jose in San Antonio, TX. The experience behind the cameras was a little new for us but extremely fun. We want to thank Fer, Rafa and Rocio for their incredible support with our photos and for having the stamina to resist the intense heat of San Antonio for so many hours!

Austin, friends and David Jay

El miércoles pasado realizé uno de los viajes express más divertidos del año. Mi amigo y colega Fer Juaristi junto con otro tipazo y colega de Monterrey Rafa Ibañez y un servidor nos lanzamos para Austin para asistir a la conferencia Free to Succeed de el increible fotógrafo David Jay. Pocas veces en mi vida he aprendido tanto en sólo 4 horas y conocido gente como Rafa, David ó Kenny Kim (otro gran fotógrafo de Chicago) que uno parece haberlos conocido de toda la vida. Una experiencia realmente divertida pero sobre todo que me ayudó a encontrar una gran isnpiración para que pueda mejorar en el negocio que yo considero el más gratificante del mundo, la fotografía de bodas.

Last Wednesday I made one of the must fun express road trips from this year. My friend and colleague Fer Juaristi together with an incredible person as well from Monterrey, Rafa Ibañez, and myself headed up to Austin to assist to the conference Free to Succeed tour presented by the incredible photographer David Jay. Very few times in my life I have had the opportunity to learn so much in just 4 hours and even fewer I have met people like Rafa, David or Kenny Kim that seemed like I've known them since years ago. It was really and incredible experience that helped me find inspiration and will also help me to improve my business, the business that I consider the most gratifying business of all, wedding photography.
